Navy vs Notre Dame Betting predictions

Its time for college football bettors to unwrap their bankrolls as Navy and Notre Dame (-20.5) kick off 'Week 0' in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, August 26.

The 10-game slate also includes San Jose St. at USC (-30.5) and Hawaii at Vanderbilt (-16.5). Here is a college football best bet for 'Week 0' :

College Football Over Under betting odds - Navy vs. Notre Dame Under 50.5

I find it interesting that the total (50.5 at last check) has seen little movement since being released several months ago. And with early weather forecasts projecting a 60% chance of rain, it might get a little soggy on Saturday afternoon in Ireland. That's why I like under 50.5. Yes, I know all about highly-touted transfer QB Sam Hartman taking over under center for the Fighting Irish after throwing for close to 13,000 yards in five seasons at Wake Forest. But Hartman, who will be protected by one of the best O-lines in the nation, takes over an offense which lost it's coordinator (Tommy Rees) to Alabama and an All-American tight end (Michael Mayer) to the NFL Draft. So, it might take Hartman some time to ignite a unit leaning on a lot of young players to start the season.

For Navy, Brain Newberry is in at head coach, and Grant Chestnut takes over as offensive coordinator. But those familiar with the Midshipmen's option offense should expect more of the same: a run-heavy playbook. Navy, which returns four offensive line starters from last season, will look to bleed the game clock, while testing a retooled and young Irish D-line.

Game Information - Navy vs Notre Dame

Even if Notre Dame, a 20-point favorite in this spot, manages to pull away, points will be hard to come by as Navy will look to shorten the game at all cost. I also expect the rainy weather to play a factor. Bet: Under 50.5
