Detroit Short-Form Video Creators: Remix Sports Media Wants Your Pistons Stories
Detroit, you know basketball is different here. It lives in neighborhood rec centers, school gyms, park courts and every barbershop debate about the Pistons. It carries the legacy of the Bad Boys, the 2004 championship and a fan base that has never needed an invitation to be loud. Now a new generation led by Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren is writing the next chapter, and the stories around it deserve to be told by people who actually live them.
Remix Sports Media is building a national network of local creators who can produce original basketball stories in their own cities. For Detroit, we are looking for short-form video creators: people who can shoot, cut and post a sharp vertical video before the conversation moves on.
The Detroit Content We Want to Create
Short-form video is where basketball culture moves fastest, and Detroit has no shortage of material. Here is what we want to build with local creators:
Fan interview clips outside Little Caesars Arena capturing pregame predictions, throwback takes and what the Pistons mean to different generations of Detroiters.
Community basketball stories from rec leagues, high school gyms, youth camps and park courts across the city and suburbs.
Creator-led series like a weekly Pistons reaction show, a "best court in Detroit" tour or a neighborhood hooper spotlight.
Event coverage of tournaments, charity games, watch parties and local basketball events that rarely get a camera crew.
Why Detroit, and why now? Because a new NBA season is underway, the Pistons are giving the city fresh reasons to talk, and fans are hungry for content that sounds like Detroit instead of a national broadcast. The best clips will come from creators who already know which corner store, which court and which family cookout is hiding the next great basketball story. We want to put your lens on those moments and share them with the wider basketball world.
Have a format that feels fresh? Tell us about it on our NBA Content Creator Search page and show us how you would put your own spin on Detroit basketball.
The People We Want to Meet
We are not only looking for polished resumes. We want Detroit natives and longtime residents who understand the city's basketball rhythm and can capture it with a phone, a mirrorless camera or a full kit. That could be you if you are:
A short-form videographer or TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts creator with a strong eye for framing and pacing.
A video editor who can turn raw footage into a tight, captioned clip with energy and personality.
An on-camera personality or street interviewer who can make strangers comfortable and get real answers.
A photographer or multimedia storyteller who wants to pair stills and video for richer coverage.
Do you know the local hoops scene, from the best open gym to the coach everybody respects? That kind of insider knowledge is exactly what we are after.
