Detroit Short-Form Video Creators: Remix Sports Media Wants Your Motor City Hoops Stories
Detroit Short-Form Video Creators: Remix Sports Media Wants Your Motor City Hoops Stories
Detroit is a basketball city built on grit. It is the home of the Bad Boys, the 2004 "Goin' to Work" champions and a Pistons fanbase that has never needed a national network to tell it how to care about this game. Today, that same energy lives in Detroit Public School League gyms, neighborhood courts, barbershop debates and Little Caesars Arena concourses. Remix Sports Media is looking for the short-form video creators who already live that world, and we want to help you share it with the country.
We are building a national network of local creators who can produce original basketball stories in their own NBA markets. Detroit is on our list, and the next voice we meet could be yours.
Why Detroit Needs Its Own Short-Form Storytellers
The best Detroit basketball moments rarely fit into a ninety-minute broadcast. They happen in a fifteen-second clip of a pickup game that goes viral, a quick fan reaction outside the arena, or a coach explaining why a neighborhood program matters. Short-form video is where those moments travel fastest, and creators who know the city are the ones who can catch them first. National outlets visit Detroit. You live here.
The Detroit Hoops Content We Want to Create
We are not looking to copy what the big networks already publish. We want original, creator-led work with a Detroit point of view. Here are a few formats we have in mind:
Fan interviews: quick, unscripted reactions from Pistons supporters before and after games, at watch parties and around downtown.
Community basketball stories: profiles of local coaches, trainers, rec league organizers and the courts that raise Detroit hoopers.
High school hoops highlights: vertical video recaps and storylines from Public School League and area prep games.
Event coverage: tournaments, camps, clinics and community nights where basketball brings people together.
Creator-led shows: a recurring series with your voice, your format and your take on Detroit basketball culture.
Picture a sixty-second piece that asks Detroit fans how the Bad Boys legacy still shapes the way this city wants its team to play. Picture a day-in-the-life reel following a youth coach from the gym to the film room. That is the kind of original local storytelling we want to build with you.
The People We Want to Meet
You do not need a studio or a big following. We care about creativity, consistency and a real connection to Detroit basketball. We want to meet:
Short-form video creators who film, edit and post vertical content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
Videographers and editors who can turn raw footage into sharp, fast-paced basketball stories.
Photographers who can pair stills with video for a complete look at a game or event.
On-camera personalities and interviewers who are comfortable talking hoops with anyone.
Detroit natives and longtime residents with a unique angle on the city's basketball history and future.
How to Apply
Applying takes a few minutes. Visit the NBA Content Creator Search page and include the following:
Your portfolio or samples: links to videos, reels, photos or any work that shows how you tell stories.
Your social handles: the accounts where you share your content.
Your availability: when you are free to shoot, edit and collaborate.
One original story idea from Detroit: a person, place, event or moment you believe the basketball world should see.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee payment, employment, credentials, arena access, player interviews or any specific assignment. Remix Sports Media will share details directly with creators if and when opportunities are confirmed.
Your Detroit Story Starts Here
