Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami once again demonstrated the power of mentorship, community, and philanthropy during its highly anticipated 2026 Dream BIG Gala presented by CNW Courier Network. Held at the luxurious JW Marriott Marquis Miami on April 25, the annual signature fundraiser brought together more than 450 supporters, community leaders, business professionals, and philanthropists for an unforgettable evening focused on changing lives across Miami-Dade County.
The event highlighted the life-changing impact of mentorship while raising critical funding for the organization’s free youth and family programs throughout South Florida.
A Big Night Dedicated to Empowering Miami’s Youth
The Dream BIG Gala has become one of South Florida’s most important community fundraising events because of its direct impact on children and families throughout the region.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami continues providing mentorship opportunities that help young people gain confidence, guidance, support, and access to opportunities that can positively shape their futures.
This year’s gala celebrated not only the organization’s mission but also the people and families helping make that mission possible.
One of the major highlights of the evening was the recognition of the Steinberg Family for their longstanding generosity, leadership, and continued support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami.
Their commitment to philanthropy and youth development has played a meaningful role in helping the organization continue expanding its reach and impact throughout the community.
Community Leaders Show Support
The event attracted influential leaders from throughout Miami-Dade County, including Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade Commissioner Kionne McGhee.
Mayor Levine Cava, herself a former Big Sister, joined attendees in celebrating the importance of mentorship and recognizing the contributions made by the Steinberg Family and the organization overall.
The strong turnout from community leaders reflected the growing recognition that mentorship programs play a critical role in youth development, education, and long-term community success.
Launch of “We All Have a Little in Common” Campaign
The gala also marked the official launch of the organization’s new “We All Have a Little in Common” campaign.
The campaign focuses on the shared human connections that help create successful mentorship relationships and stronger communities overall.
The message behind the initiative reflects one of the organization’s core beliefs: despite different backgrounds and experiences, meaningful connections can help unlock opportunity, confidence, and growth for young people.
The campaign launch added another layer of purpose and momentum to an already impactful evening.
DJ Irie Brings Miami Energy to the Event
Adding to the celebration was music provided by former Miami Heat DJ DJ Irie, who delivered energetic sets throughout the evening.
His music brought authentic Miami energy to the ballroom and helped create an atmosphere that balanced celebration, inspiration, and community connection.
Events like the Dream BIG Gala continue standing out because they blend philanthropy with the unique culture and spirit of South Florida.
Funding Programs That Change Lives
According to BBBS Miami President and CEO Gale Nelson, the gala serves as more than just an annual celebration.
“The Dream BIG Gala is more than just a celebration; it is a vital catalyst for the future of our youth,” Nelson said. “Every mentorship relationship we spark through the BIG Gala provides a child with the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential and dream bigger than ever before.”
Funds raised from the evening will directly support BBBS Miami’s mentorship initiatives, all of which are provided free of charge to families.
Programs supported include:
One-to-one community mentorship matches
Bigs in Blue initiative
Career readiness programs
STEAM-focused educational support
Arts initiatives
Workforce development opportunities
These programs continue helping children throughout Miami-Dade County gain access to mentorship, education, and opportunities that can create lasting change.
South Florida Continues Supporting Community Impact
The success of the 2026 Dream BIG Gala reflects the continued commitment South Florida has toward supporting youth development and community-driven initiatives.
