Better Late Than Never For The Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have arrived with roughly 20 games left of the regular season. We finally see glimpses of what opposing teams fear when they face the Heat in a playoff series.

The team is playing with a toughness and purpose that it wasn’t playing with before. You see players diving on the floor or crowd for a loose ball. You see them getting in opponent's faces after hard fouls. That wasn’t there in early January.

Miami Heat Season Predictions

One of the newest developments is that Duncan Robinson has played himself into someone who deserves to start every night. The numbers and spacing speak for themselves. The Heat are 18-6 when Robinson is in the starting lineup. He has a different swag about himself, and it’s noticeable that the team feeds off it.

When you see Robinson in the face of Jaylen Brown, it forces you to come with that same fire.

Coach Erik Spoelstra has a tough decision to make when Tyler Herro returns from injury, but that’s why they pay him the big dollars.

The other positive about this stretch is that Jaime Jaquez seems to be back and over the injury that threw his rookie season off course. The energy, the spin moves, and the finishing through contact have all reappeared.

Nikola Jovic is here to stay. The 20-year-old forward has become a real piece that the Heat must rely upon in the postseason. His versatility unlocks things the Heat haven’t been able to tap into over the years. He also has some of that grit getting ejected in last night's game vs the Detroit Pistons.
