Miami Heat vs Memphis Grizzlies: Top 5 Takeaways

The Heat offense has a real problem. No matter the lineup or rotation, every possession is tough. The lack of spacing and shooting stands out the most during this stretch. If Duncan or Herro aren’t getting open catch-and-shoot, there’s no three-point shooting coming from anywhere else. The floor is so compact that Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler struggle to get good looks unless they cook a defender.

Terry Rozier struggled to find his rhythm offensively as a few floaters early in the game didn’t fall. The good sign is he was able to get into the paint with ease, blowing by his defender. That was something the Heat desperately needed and was lacking from former guard Kyle Lowry. The shots will eventually fall and open things up for the team.

Duncan Robinson needs more minutes and shots. The Heat are 8-0 when Robinson scores at least 20 points this season. They should make it a priority to make sure they are maximizing his ability to flip a game.

The Grizzlies might have found a new young star in GG Jackson. The rookie scored 17 points, going four for six from beyond the arc. Jackson is only 19, but you can see the poise and ability to hang with the world’s best.

Miami Heat vs Memphis Grizzlies Game showed that Jamie Jaquez is needed more than expected. One thing that stood out to me is the lack of easy baskets without him in the lineup. Every game, you seen Jaquez get two or three easy back-door cuts just being in the right place and knowing when to go. That part of the offense seems to be nonexistent without Jaquez.
