Miami HEAT Unveil “Mindfulness Sanctuary” at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School

The Miami HEAT continue to prove that their impact goes far beyond the basketball court. On Wednesday afternoon, the organization partnered with Florida Blue to unveil a brand-new HEAT Mindfulness Sanctuary at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School in North Miami Beach.

Miami HEAT Continue Their Commitment to Mental Health

The unveiling of the Mindfulness Sanctuary is part of the Miami HEAT Mindfulness Champions Initiative (MCI), a program the organization launched in 2021 to help support mental health awareness and education across Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Since its launch, the program has had a major impact across the district.

Through the initiative, 917 teachers have already received training and resources focused on mindfulness and mental health education, allowing them to bring those tools directly into their classrooms and share them with both students and fellow faculty members.

This new sanctuary marks the fourth HEAT Mindfulness Sanctuary created as part of the initiative, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to supporting student well-being throughout South Florida.
